Is Your Food Business Compliant With Food Hygiene Legislation?

Not sure what food hygiene rules relate to your business? Need reassurance that you are fully compliant with all relevant food safety legislation?

Food business owners and operators have varied reasons for needing to look up food hygiene rules. Whether you need to improve your hygiene rating, or are due a food hygiene audit, whether you’ve had complaints from consumers or customers, whether you are just doing your due diligence and double checking your duties, or whether you are honestly completely baffled, our food safety consultants are here to help.

You could look at food safety guides and legal books all day long and still not quite understand the intricacies of your duties as a food business operator. Sometimes, when you have a problem, the best thing to do is to speak to an expert.

Our food safety consultants are also tutors, and can advise you of the best course of action, or point you in the direction of an appropriate training course.

Gap Analysis

One such option is a gap analysis. This is a low cost method of testing your business’ food hygiene compliance. A food safety M.O.T. of sorts.

Here’s how it works:

  1. A consultant will come to visit you at your workplace/s.
  2. Your consultant will perform a workplace food hygiene audit. This usually takes about half a day. They will look at many areas of food safety management and perform spot checks, covering things such as record keeping, temperature control, storage of food, work preparation areas, equipment maintenance, etc.
  3. Your consultant will write up a report and recommended action plan. This will detail the areas that are well managed and areas that need improvement. This will be provided in the form of specific corrective actions that are needed to comply with particular regulations.
  4. The rest is up to you, unless you require support with implementing your recommended actions, in which case we can provide an appropriate level of support.
